America Needs You.
It Can't Wait 20 Years.
Too many technicians spend decades gaining experience without ever receiving the focused training that turns experience into mastery. We built Tyro to change that.
For generations, people learned the trade the hard way. Find a company. Hope someone good had time to teach you. Learn slowly in the field. Make mistakes. Watch other people work. Eventually, if you stuck with it long enough, you figured it out.
That was the old way. We have better tools now.
Eleven focused, intensive weeks. All day, every day.
Lots of repetition. Very few books. You learn by doing - real tools, real equipment, the same skills over and over until they are second nature.
That's the Tyro way.
Modern training, simulation, technology, repetition, coaching, and structured field experience can accelerate the early part of the learning curve in a way that simply was not possible before.
Eleven weeks does not make you a master technician. It gets you in the room.
It gives you the confidence, foundational skills, and discipline to walk into an employer and be genuinely useful.
Then the real development starts.
Most technicians never receive enough focused training after they enter the field. They gain experience, but experience alone does not guarantee growth. Someone can spend twenty years in the trade and still, in practice, have one year of experience repeated twenty times.
That is a shame.
Because with deliberate training, coaching, repetition, simulation, and real field experience, you can build skills faster and more completely than most technicians ever get the opportunity to.

A Trade You Can't Outsource
HVAC technicians are in demand in every town in America, and the need is only growing. We built Tyro to get motivated people into that career fast - without a two-year degree or a pile of student loans.
Hands On, Not Slides
You spend your days on live equipment - recovering refrigerant, wiring a condenser, brazing a joint, reading a system with your own gauges. You learn the trade by doing the trade.
Credentials That Count
Graduate with your federal EPA Section 608 certification and an OSHA-10 safety card - the exact tickets employers ask for on day one.
Employer Recruiting Day
Every course ends with local HVAC employers in our shop - and you interviewing on the spot. You don't leave hoping for a callback. You leave with real conversations already started.
Eleven Weeks, One Working Tech
Four phases, each stacking on the last. You start with how a system works and safety, and you finish able to install, diagnose, and service real HVAC equipment alongside a customer - with an Employer Recruiting Day to close it out.
Fundamentals & Safety
How heating and cooling actually work - and how to stay safe doing it.
Refrigerant & EPA 608
Handle refrigerant the right way - and earn the federal card required to do it.
Electrical & Controls
The #1 reason a system quits is electrical. This is where you learn to find it.
Install, Service & Ride-Along
Put it all together on full installs, maintenance calls, and a real ride-along.
Certified. Skilled. Hired.
You don't leave with a participation certificate. You leave with the credentials, the hands-on skill, and a direct shot at a paying job.
608

Taught by People Who Do This
Every class at Tyro is led by a licensed, working HVAC professional - not a lecturer. You learn the trade from techs who've spent years on rooftops, in crawlspaces, and in front of customers.
Lead Instructor
18+ years in residential and light-commercial HVAC. Runs the shop floor and makes sure every student can back up what's on their certificate.
Service & Diagnostics
Specializes in troubleshooting - the skill that separates a parts-changer from a real technician. Teaches you to find the fault, not guess at it.
Install & Fieldwork
Leads the hands-on install labs and the week-4 ride-along, coaching you through the pace and standards of a real jobsite.
